1. Groupon saves me money on local businesses I already use. I have bought groupons for my favorite bagel shop, my wife’s hair salon, and a host of other places I already spend money. In each case, we saved 50-75% off the normal retail prices.
2. Groupon introduces me to new places around town I would have never heard of in my normal life. I tried a new place to get my hair cut (love it!) and a cooking class for my 4 year old (it’s his favorite activity.) I had never heard of either before the Groupon, and now I am a loyal customer of both.
3. It’s not just food and spas! I have used Groupon to buy a segway tour, a speedboat ride, and even skydiving lessons. All things I would have never been able to afford without a discount.
4. Groupons make awesome gifts – and they cost half the money! So when I saw the scuba diving lessons offered at 60% off – I snapped one up for my sister. She’s added a few lessons of her own, and now she’s a certified diver!
5. Local businesses are the fuel that drives Groupon. But that doesn’t mean they don’t offer national deals like the recent one from the Gap. $50 Gap certificate for $25!
6. Groupon has helped me travel for cheaper. In addition to the one deal I receive daily for my local city – I have signed up for other cities I visit frequently. It’s made my business trips and vacations more fun, and definitely more affordable. I even get offers for the city where my in-laws live. I still hate visiting them, but now I can sneak away for some fun at half price!
7. I have made money using Groupon! I recently relocated, and placed my extra groupons on Craigslist for exactly what I paid. Some of them were so popular, people emailed me offering more than I paid!
8. Groupon is user friendly, and allows us to suggest businesses. Once you sign up, make sure to scroll down and click on “Suggest a Business.” The more suggestions they get, the more likely a business is to participate.
9. Groupon is 100% free to sign up. You receive 1 email a day. If you want to buy the deal – awesome! If not, no big deal.
